Adult & Teen Challenge Wisconsin recently expanded into Wausau by acquiring the former Gospel TLC facility. Our team is currently preparing the campus as we transition the program to the full Adult & Teen Challenge model.
While we are not yet accepting new residents, we anticipate opening the Wausau Men’s Residential Program in the fall of 2026.

We know that every man has a unique story, and we want to help you discover your path to freedom. We offer a safe and structured place where you can truly heal from the challenges you’ve been facing. We believe that with the right support, guidance, and a strong spiritual foundation, lasting freedom from addiction is possible.
Adult Teen Challenge Wisconsin is a faith-based residential recovery program. Our men’s long-term program (12 months), located in Wausau, is specifically focused on helping individuals find healing and ultimate freedom from chemical dependencies. We work diligently to address the root causes of addiction and to support men in healing on a heart level, so destructive patterns can end and healthy ones can be established.
Our goal is life transformation and total restoration. We understand that recovery is a process, and our four-level program is designed to walk men through each step of the journey to freedom.
4-Level Program
LEVEL 1
ACCEPT
Clients attend classes that emphasize recognizing and changing destructive thoughts and beliefs, understanding the basic needs they were attempting to fulfill through chemical use, and learning practical tools that equip them to change their lives.
LEVEL 2
HEAL
Clients participate in the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual work that it takes to heal wounds of past failures, broken relationships, spiritual deceptions, & issues with their own identity that are often the root cause of chemical addiction.
LEVEL 3
DISCOVER
Clients learn more about God’s design and how to enter into a future that is free from the oppression of old wounds, creating a solid foundation for the future and identifying & utilizing their unique gifts and talents.
LEVEL 4
PRACTICE
Clients start putting what they’ve learned into action by securing employment and housing, participating in effective management of their time and resources, and by becoming leaders who give back to their families and communities.
Men’s AfterCare Transitional Housing
A Valuable Next Step
Adult Teen Challenge Wisconsin offers an optional AfterCare program for men who complete the long-term program. AfterCare supports graduates as they transition into their new lives by providing affordable on-campus housing, continued mentorship with the Program Director, and a safe, sober place to return to each day.
Living in AfterCare allows graduates to practice what they’ve learned in the long-term program with an added layer of accountability as they move toward independence. This next step helps men continue building financial stability, maintain lasting sobriety, and grow in their faith journey.
